"Currently, all ACCs nationally are being transitioned from their former roles into new roles and functions under the proposed Regional Development Australia networ. The Minister has yet to formally announce what the objectives, functions and roles for the RDA offices will be as negotiations are continuing with the various State Governments concerning their involvement with this new national organisation."

will continue to advise the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government on economic and regional
issues and on ways to improve job and training
opportunities as they transition to RDA. ACCs still have a facilitative
role within their area to enhance
growth, identify and address employment
impediments (including skill shortages),
plus develop regional employment strategies
through networks and partnerships with business,

key objective of the North East Victoria Area
Consultative Committee is to generate employment
opportunities throughout the region."
"Regional
Development is the key to our future growth and
prosperity in this Country. The Rudd Commonwealth Government
has proposed a joint funding program to assist in this
development growth and it will be titled the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Programme (RLCIP). The Regional Partnerships
Programme which closed on 13.05.08 was the basis of ACC Projects that on
submission to the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government were recommended if suitable, through
the ACC's to the Department. At the closure of RPp, NEVACC had proudly assisted 53 proponents successfully achieve Federal Government funds of $13,503,123.00 for their projects."
